Richmond Dream

Originally built in 1953, this modest Usonian residence likely stood out among the housing built to support Richmond’s dramatic population increase during World War II. At one point nearly forgotten, this home was brought back to life by the sellers who sprinkled a little Cliff May and a little Palm Springs to create their oasis in the Bay Area.

The buyer lived in an Eichler for many years, and has been hunting for the next one since 2016. Patience, persistence, and engaging with a specialist team in an aggressively moving market pays off. I can’t think of a more deserving new custodian who lives, studies, and teaches modernist history and ideals we could all continue to learn from today. Looking forward to many yard hangs.
